honey, WHY are bees important?
One of the most popular subjects in the last year is definitely the importance of honey bees. Although bees produce honey, one of the healthiest foods in the world, that doesn’t spoil, bees are even more amazing and important than you might think.
You might wonder – “how can a tiny honey bee have so much importance? What would change if they disappeared? I probably wouldn’t even notice.“ The thing is, you would notice. Everyone on earth will notice. The most important function of a bee is pollination.
If there are no bees to pollinate the plants in nature – many fruits, vegetables, plants, and even trees will disappear. When you realize that there might be a shortage of food, it puts the importance of bees into perspective.
But, if you thought that would be the only issue – you are wrong. Bees are a very important part of the eco-chain in nature – many animals prey on bees, and many animals feed off the plants pollinated by bees. That means, that if bees would disappear, many animals would starve and eventually die out.
The beautiful flowers and plants in your garden will also slowly die out, and biodiversity wouldn’t exist. Even though a honey bee is tiny, it is actually a crucial and important part of nature that holds the ecological chain intact.
